Does gtx560ti require extra power supply if i connect it to the same slot as my old 8500gt card?

i currently have a 8500gt and would like to replace it with a gtx560ti does it require extra power supply or is the power provided by my current cpu enough?

please help if i do require then how do i do it?

is there anyway to know the power supplied by my cpu?|||Depends what you already have. The 560ti uses around 550 and the one you have uses quite a bit less power so odds are you will have to get a bigger power supply.|||most new graphics cards need either a 6 pin or 8 pin power connector for extra power from your power supply, i would advise if your power supply is below 600watt then you will have to buy a better one to be able to run the card and your whole system better.

it isnt your cpu that provides power to your graphics card it is your power supply (PSU) you can check what wattage you have by opening your case and seeing what it says, best advise is if you need to replace your PSU then go for something with at least dual +12v rails (this enables you to run more system devices without too much strain on your system)

I hope this helps you out, if you need more advice then inbox me and i will help you further.|||"Graphics Card Power (W) 170 W
